Global Relief Technologies Honored for Exemplary Performance in Software Development
TEWKSBURY, MASS.,June 19, 2007—Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems (IDS) has recognized Global Relief Technologies, based in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with a Supplier Excellence Award. The award recognizes a commitment to maintaining the highest standards in an important chain of performance. IDS hosted the awards ceremony Tuesday during their employee Mission Assurance Day at their headquarters in Tewksbury, Mass.
GRT’s technology is being used in Iraq to support the day-to-day operation, logistics, and maintenance of Raytheon’s Rapid Aerostat Initial Development (RAID) system. The RAID system, including GRT’s software support, increases soldiers’ awareness of the battlefield around them. Electronic sensors pick up incoming fire and critical data is relayed to field commanders who can move troops out of harm’s way.
GRT operates out of a high-tech “command center”, where data is received over multiple, secure communications and analyzed using software and database technology developed by GRT, and then distributed in formats customized to customer’s requirements for decisional data.
